In my opinion, the news of her blog being hacked was kinda blown up to a very big news, which even hits the singapore local radio news. How toopid does tht seems, as in how small singapore can be till such news get to be broadcast ? And even hve bloggers like me and others to blog and comment abt it.
Anyway back to topic. Being internet sauvvy, i hve to say tht hacker is kinda of a tricky guy. Coz he can never use brute force to hack into the account and must be plannin for ages on how to get the passwd for hacking. If tht is the case, den it must be the blogger conference which most of them din LOG out properly. So
Security lesson Number 1, when use a public computer, it is never HARMFUL to log out more than ONCE. But the hacker aso quite mean la, he/she has deleted more than 3000 mails and even all her archives. If it was me at her position, it will be a blow. For the archive files has established who she is and represented her identity. By deleting all of them, tht is equals to removing part of her. All her hard work, all her thoughts and opinions all gone. Luckily for her, she did do a backup recently and managed to get back all her stuffs online due to the security loophole of IE. Wht i cant tolerate are ppl who still emailed her or post comments in her blog on "how she deserves to be hacked". Tht is WAY WAY LOW the Belt ppl ~!
Imagine if u r of a person who likes to do this ur way, and currently u r involed in a project(academic or corporate ) for ages ( e.g 2 mths) and out of a sudden it has been sabotage by some toopid colleague. And during den when u try to recover ur previous work, u get critized by others on how u deserved to be sabotaged due to the reasoning on they are unhappy about how ur way of handling things. How would u feel ?
So back to XiaXue, if you guys are unhappy abt how her writings are and are affected by it, den Dun read it lor, no need to even laugh at ppl's misery bah. Tht is totally despicable. Grow up can ?
