I remembered Mavis and I would lurrvee to shop at those supermarket and to diss/know about all the items in there. We would tok about how we dun like this particular brand of food or being tempted to buy a new item that we haven't try b4. And one of the most frequently visited supermarket we always hang around is Carrefour at Suntec. Being at Carrefour, you will see all sort of items (international and local) inclusive of our main lead here, Musli Bars.
They have soooo many varieties of them, and one can really find cheap deals within.
And with tht, Mavis and I would always go there to buy different sorts of Musli Bars and exchanged within to have a share of the bars we both purchased.
After purchasing what we did was to munch away during our assignment period with our nutritious and yet filling snacks...
I have so many memories of Mavis and I regarding of food especially during our poly days. In fact, i spent more time with Mavis than with my ex of tht time. Shall listed down a few here for amusement .
One of the memories i vividly recalled is during DUAN WU JIE, when we supposed to have the sweet dumplings ( tang yuen ). But that was also the period where we have all our poly assignments due.
Anyway, her family's practise on buying pre-packed dumplings in order to save time. But at that particular year, her mum missed out buying the sesame paste ones. So our missues here apparently missed out on the smooth flavoured of sesame paste. So On tht next day, she dragged me out at 8am in the MORNING just to travel to chinatown to have this dessert ( sesame paste ) to curb her cravings. And after the dessert, we then travelled all the way back frm chinatown to school to rush for projects. Best lor ..
Another of our favourite hangout place is Bugis, where we would walk along the alleys of the Chinese temples and SimLim Square. We would also stroll along the boutiques of Bugis Junction, shopping for new conquests ( clothes that is ).
So one fine day, both of us decided to hop to the fastest bus to Bugis after our submission of assignment in order to reward ourselves of the hardwork we put in. So from bugis, we shopped and talked and had loads of food. But out of the sudden, she wanted to get some stuffs at SimLim square. So thus we trekked back to where we got off frm the 1st place. Along the way from Bugis Junction to SimLim Square, you have to go through this small night markets hawker stalls selling all sorts of gadgets, stuffs and even food.
Being a bit distracted by those hawker shouting to pull crowds in, Mavis got attracted to the logans On SAle ....
With that, she start psycho-ing me to share buying logans to munch on the way. And with it being really cheap ( like 2.99 per kg ), WE BOUGHT AN ENTIRE KG OF LOGANS ~!!!!
imagine tht ~!!
So in the end, we spent like an hour sitting along the street to enjox our longans and chatting away. Though it is tad of lameness in it, but its one of the best moments i have with her.
Sighzzzzz ... THose are really the days ....
